INTELLECTUALLY
OMNIVEROUS
FIRST OF ALL, primary to
everything else about me is the inescapable reality
that I am an Artist and a student of everything. Or
as Stephen Hawking once
said, "If
we do discover a complete theory, it should be in time understandable
in
broad principle by everyone...then shall all, philosophers, scientists,
and just ordinary people be able to take part in the discussion of why
we and the universe exist."
NATURE
I
live on the sea in northwestern Washington state with a gentle man I
call my brother (though he is not, biologically at least), four cats,
and an
aged weiner dog. Peter is the best brother a girl could wish for,
and he says I'm the best sister ever, but we both miss kissing and the
other wonders of romance. Still, having the bed to myself (except
for Big the Cat, who sleeps alongside me) is a decided boon in many
ways. We
share the property with a tremendous
abundance of wildlife,
from coyotes and deer to eagles and owls Hawks, gulls, raven,
heron, bear and cougar all make their homes here. I've seen most
of them since returning here a few years ago, though I have yet to spot
the elusive cougar. And maybe that's a good thing.
It's a beautiful place to live, the
northwoods and sea of my youth, and I am happy to have returned to the
salt-sprayed
wild ocean surrounded
by deep and dreamy green forests. Texas will always have my heart, for
it is a place of people full of life. Big hair, big smiles, and
big hearts are what I shall forever think of when I think of
Texas...that and my
home on Brushy Creek. Still, I am content to stay
in the exquisite NW until
my end of days, happy by the mountain, sea, and forests.
